Stream: Physical Therapy, “Whitelabel”

August 16, 2013

New Physical Therapy track "Whitelabel" is almost maniacally brutal, from the maddening ticking sound that kicks off at the beginning to the crazy, scream-like crescendo that it culminates in a couple minutes in. Somewhere between the heavily filter-sweeped synth melody and the four-on-the-floor beat, it actually feels quite dance-able at times, though trying to figure out how all the competing counter-rhythms are adding up to what you hear is also a recipe for a brain freeze. It's the title track from an EP he has coming out on Sinden's Grizzly imprint, which has also released material from SBTRKT and Brenmar. In other Physical Therapy news, Daniel Fisher made a beat for his little brother's rap group, Word Over Everything, whose "on the conscious tip" Poets and Prophets album debuted on Bandcamp this week.
