No Regular Play is the NYC electronic duo of Greg Paulus and Nick DeBruyn, two childhood friends and Wolf+Lamb affiliates whose live set combines a house-inspired palette with live vocals and horns. "Night Rangers," a track from their upcoming Nothing Less EP, complicates a grid-like beat with a host of expressive accents and infectious melodic lines, from the chewy synth chords and subtle trumpet fills to the ultra-sexy, upward synth slide that occurs at a few choice moments throughout. It's a beautiful, downtempo, bittersweet track that speaks to the duo's jazz background as much as the last few weeks of summer, which is why it's pretty appropriate that Nothing Less is slated for release on August 26th on HAKT, the new label from former DFA manager Justin Miller.
