Gangsta Boo and Sinjin Hawke, "Yea Hoe" MP3

This year Gangsta Boo managed to deftly bridge the gap between her Hypnotize Minds heyday and 2013 relevance with a comeback tape, It's Game Involved, which revived her classic Memphis sound and incorporated newcomers indebted to it (Don Trip, Raider Klan). That her collaboration with Barcelona producer Sinjin Hawke feels natural, then, doesn't come as a huge surprise. These sorts of cross-genre projects between rap and electronic artists can feel forced or opportunistic—a photocopy of a photocopy of real trap shit. But Gangsta Boo's inspired by Hawke's orchestral club slaps, and it shows.
