Stream: ILLLS, “Out”

FADER PREMIERE:
ILLLS is the solo rock project of Oxford, Mississippi's Steven Ross. To give you some idea of how small and close-knit the underground rock scene there is, he played his first show at the Cats Purring Ranch, the house venue/recording collective surrounding folks like Dent May, Dead Gaze and Bass Drum of Death, who coincidentally just dropped a new video. ILLLS' debut album, Hideout from the Feeders, follows from a full band EP that came out last year on UK label The Sounds of Sweet Nothing. That label has since shuttered, and Ross has since parted ways with the original members of the band, but lead single "Out" sounds big and triumphant, aside from the creepily processed vocals, which sound kind of like they're bubbling up from the interior of a lake. Hideout from the Feeders is out November 12th via Aloe Music.
