Video: Happy Jawbone Family Band, “Stay-at-Home Soldier”

FADER PREMIERE

Shot one night in the weirdo rockers' Vermont hometown, the official clip for the Happy Jawbone Family Band track "Stay-at-Home Soldier" is a two-minute acid trip, wrought with staggered visuals and a kind of kaleidoscopic giddiness. We watch as the group's frontman Luke Csehak prepares spaghetti, plays with (presumably plastic) weaponry, and zones out with his adorable pet hedgehog, Hercules. "This is our Brattleboro song for the album. It's about my life as a stay-at-home soldier," Csehak says of the pretty, lightweight folk song, which appears on the band's forthcoming self-titled LP. "Don't worry, a stay-at-home soldier doesn't kill anybody. They don't even leave the house. With the video we tried to capture the nuts and bolts of this lifestyle." Happy Jawbone Family Band is out October 15th via Mexican Summer.
