After setting a tone of eerie, brooding R&B on her two 2012 mixtapes, Tinashe has kept relatively quiet this year—popping up with her transcendent collaboration with Jacques Greene, and on Ryan Hemsworth's album. She's never been afraid of getting a little weird, but it seems she's edging further towards darkness with her new, Boi-1da and Vinylz-produced single, "Vulnerable." Just-announced FADER cover star Travi$ Scott adds a horny, Yeezus-referencing verse. Tinashe's Black Water tape is due out next week, with her debut album for RCA to follow, eventually.
