Last night a fire completely destroyed the New York City apartment of Dev Hynes, who releases music as Blood Orange. The songwriter, producer and recording artist says he lost clothing, irreplaceable personal items and unfinished music. His small dog, Cupid, was killed in the fire.

To raise money for Hynes' devastating losses, the mother of Hynes' girlfriend and collaborator Samantha Urbani has created a GoFundMe page. "It is only right I help someone whose music means so much to me," wrote one benefactor on the page. "No one should have to go through this," wrote another. The photo above, shot by Daniel Shea for the current FADER cover story, shows Hynes behind the piano in his apartment. You can support Hynes by contributing to the fundraiser here.
