Stream: Chief Keef, "Pull Up"

In 2013, Chief Keef strayed away from his formula for catchy, if grimacing, club-ready bangers, gravitating instead for practically unintelligible explorations of Auto-Tune's show-not-tell qualities. These experiments were definitely intriguing, and occasionally transcendent, but it's hard to argue that 2013 tapes Bang 2 and Almighty So were on the level of 2012's star-making Back From the Dead, or his studio debut Finally Rich. It seems Keef's ready to start making hits again with his latest single "Pull Up," which returns to his familiar bluster over 12 Hunna's ominously chiming beat and faintly UK garage-leaning percussion. Bang 3 is expected in March; if you're wary of the sound quality after the haphazard Bang 2, Keef assures you he's learned from his mistakes.
