Spotify Has Four Million Unplayed Songs: This Website Let’s You Shuffle Through Them

Shuffle Spotify’s four million unplayed songs on this simple website.

Spotify boasts a library of over 20 million songs, but only 80 percent of them have ever been played. Forgotify, a website that shuffles through the four million unplayed songs, wants to change that. So far using the website, I've encountered a lot of abandoned folk albums, lengthy concertos, D-grade indie bands and Russian radio novellas. It's not a very productive way to find new music, but there is something communally satisfying about being the first person to stream someone's song. You feel like you're helping, almost, something similar to hunting for astroids on NASA's behalf. As of yet, there's no timeline on how long it will take for every song to be played. Producers looking for untapped sample material, though, should dig in.
