The last time I checked in with Portland metal duo The Body, they were making their doomy drums/bass/screams arrangements even creepier with the heavenly tones of the Choir of Heavenly Light. For their RVNG Intl. debut, I Shall Die Here, they've teamed up with with The Haxan Cloak's Bobby Krillic, ratcheting up an electronic aspect of their work that was already present in the form of the occasional vocal sample or programmed beat. "Hail to Thee, Everlasting Pain" is first single from the new record, and with the sluggish, crashing bass hits at its opening, it doesn't sound that far off from a power electronics track; after the first half, though, it just sounds like The Body, which is probably an even scarier thing. I Shall Die Here is out April 1st via RVNG Intl.
