FADER NYFW, FALL 2014

To gear up for New York Fashion Week, we asked Mike The Ruler, the tween fashion icon with a penchant for wearing the world's coolest brands like Hood By Air and Rick Owens and official trillest kid on the internet, to make a special guest playlist for us to bump during NYFW. Take a listen and read what he had to say about the mix below:

I am a fan of experimental electronic music and '90s rap. I don't like most modern rap songs, but Watch the Throne is sickkkkk and I am a big A$AP MOB fan. My favorite electronic song is "Ghost Raid" by Fatima Al Qadiri, which is on this mix. I have recently discovered Mykki Blanco, who is amazing and so crazy cool. I am a big fan of Outkast and Slick Rick, so if they pair up it is like pure rareness. The name Mike the Ruler was given to me by my big homie at Supreme NYC named BB, and I actually even like the name because it reminds me of Slick Rick the Ruler. BB is the reason why I am who am and he inspired me so I give him a ton of props.

These are my top songs because of how they sound and feel. No matter how good your lyrics are it has to work with your voice and beat. These songs to me are prime examples of that. I will be listening to these hard during fashion week.
