FADER PREMIERE

Earlier today I speculated, but now I'm pretty sure: dream rap is a thing—or at least that's what I'm calling it. Here we've got another gem in this recently fertile style of pairing: newcomer American rapper (DMV upstart GoldLink, on just his sixth public track) linking with European producers with a penchant for sensitive, electronic beats with short kicks (Denmark's Galimatias and Joppe) to make a song that feels like floating and sipping lemon tea. This one-off collaboration "One Step Back" comes via Soulection, the LA label who've been a haven for songs in this general sphere. GoldLink's debut EP, The God Complex, is coming early spring (though this track won't be on there).
