LA noise-rap trio delivers their most approachable track yet, “Work Work,” featuring Cocc Pistol Cree.

Los Angeles trio clipping., whose 2013 name-your-price album mid city soldered together corrosive noise and quickfire rappity-raps like Yeezus' DIY fever dream, have announced their first official album CLPPNG via Sub Pop. Its first single, "Work Work," is their most approachable work yet, which isn't to say it's not still pretty fucking weird: they've done more with less here, evoking a bizarro universe analogue of DJ Mustard's economical slaps. Fittingly, they've recruited a verse from super-underrated LA rapper Cocc Pistol Cree, whose bad bitch banger "Lady Killa" was a highlight off Mustard's Ketchup compilation tape last year. CLPPNG is out June 10.
