Did Kanye and Hedi Slimane Make Amends?

After the hashtag #WORLDSMOSTTALKEDABOUTCOUPLE, one of the most surprising things about the Kimye Vogue cover was Kanye’s choice of clothes.

In the brouhaha of the #WORLDSMOSTTALKEDABOUTCOUPLE landing on the cover of Vogue (out today), we almost missed Kanye's hidden political message in his choice of clothes. Ye posed in a blazer by Saint Laurent, whose creative head Hedi Slimane bore the brunt of Kanye's fashion-fueled monologues last year. To backtrack, after Slimane requested that Kanye exclusively attend his show during Paris Fashion Week or not attend it at all, Kanye penned the standout Yeezus track "I Am a God." "The next day I went to the studio with Daft Punk, and I wrote ‘I Am a God,’ ” Kanye told W Magazine during his profile last summer. “Cause it’s like, Yo! Nobody can tell me where I can and can’t go. Man, I’m the No. 1 living and breathing rock star. I am Axl Rose; I am Jim Morrison; I am Jimi Hendrix.” So Kanye's willingness to wear Hedi Slimane now begs the question: Did the two make amends? Surely, it was no accident.
