A Guide to Surviving Coachella

The ultimate packing list.

April 10, 2014

Coachella is a little more grueling that your average festival. For one, you're in the desert where good weather in April means a temperature below 100, no sandstorms, and less than a 30 degree drop in the evening. There's also the fact that, unlike other city festivals, there's fewer places to pick up anything you might have forgotten. So, to help prepare for the annual trek to Indio, California, we've put together the ultimate packing list for surviving Coachella.

Anker Mini External Battery $20
Your phone is the most important thing you need during Coachella. Make sure it stays charged, without missing any sets while waiting in line for the charging stations.

Fanmail Fitted Tee in Legion $68
A lightweight tee is your best bet for braving the heat. This one by Fanmail will help you stick out from the crowd.

Malin + Goetz Vetiver Perfume Oil $50
Smells are inevitable at a festival -- especially if you're camping. But do your neighbors a solid by keeping fresh with this soothing fragrance by Malin + Goetz.

Marc By Marc Jacobs Backpack $100
You're gonna need something stylish to lug around your gear. This backpack also happens to water repellent, in case a storm breaks out.

Birkenstock Habana Oiled Leather Arizona $120
Birkenstocks are having a moment right now for good reason: they're comfortable as hell.

Ray-Ban Clubmaster Flash Lenses $170
Ray-Bans are a festival fail-safe. We dig these ones with blue mirrored lenses -- a cool twist on the classic style.

Baron Von Fancy Lighter $5
Even if you don't smoke, be the person who carries around extra lighters at festivals. You are guaranteed to make new friends.

Organic Rose and Chamomile Facial Cleansing Wipes $8
You're gonna get sweaty. But these wipes will save you from breakouts.

VFiles EW! Hand Sanitizer $10
Keep scuzzy germs at bay with VFiles hand-shaped hand sanitizer.

LRG Hawaiian Safari Bucket Hat $45
A hat is a must. Shield yourself from the sun with a bucket hat.

Johnson & Johnson First Aid Kit $5
Skip the medical tent lines for minor cuts and scrapes with this handy kit you can use while out in the crowd.

Fade to Mind Lock Logo Lanyard $25
Don't be the person who can't find their keys at the end of the night.

Victory Press Anorak $298
Layer up for the cool evenings!
