LA producer Napolian has been promising to do big things for a while now. There was his club drone remix of Oneohtrix Point Never's "Up" from Replica two years back and an intriguing EP, Rejoice, on 0PN's label Software around the same time. Then last year R&B innovator Kelela jumped on a beat he co-produced for her CUT 4 ME mixtape. This year, he's stepping up his game with his debut album Incursio, out May 27th on on Software, and it shows him wearing his growth, like his heart, on his sleeve. "1 Peter 1:3-4", which you can stream in video below while reading the titular prayer in a dozen different languages, starts off like a slice of steaming hot digital funk before revealing subtler, sadder shades. He's a deep one, Napolian.
