Montreal’s TOPS Are Back; Watch the Homemade “Change of Heart” Video

TOPS return with a new Arbutus Records single and an accompanying, self-directed official video.

It's been a couple years since Montreal four-piece TOPS released their great, sort-of overlooked debut Tender Opposites, a record full of intricate Lite Rock that makes you want to shimmy in a foggy club while also sounding like the sort of easy-listening your cool ex-hippie Mom might be into. "Change of Heart," the a-side of their new, much-anticipated (at least in these parts) Arbutus single doesn't tamper with that formula much. The video, which premiered over at Gorilla vs. Bear this morning, is a homemade cluster of pretty footage showing the band doing a bunch of goofy shit, most of which I'm undoubtedly going to do this summer myself: sloppily eating ice cream, shotgunning beers, using a TV remote as a microphone, hanging out with dogs. The Change Of Heart/ Sleeptalker 7-inch drops on June 23rd.
