"Forgive my ignorance for I am just human," writes new Dutch singer/producer Sevdaliza on her Facebook page. While that may be, in the video for her new song "Sirens of the Caspian," she assumes the guise of a mystical character, stalking her way through underground chambers and playing with biblical themes—submerging herself baptism-like in water, flirting with a snake, and bleeding from her eyes. Visuals aside, it's Sevdaliza's brooding bass, languid trap stylings and husky tone that works to conjure up a heady, heavy mood that screams temptation.
