Seven billion residents of the Earth / And we all go through issues in life / It's like, if you're not really ready then you can end up in pieces / Your peace of mind turns to sediment, is one heck of a perspective-birthing opener. They're the words of south London hip-hop trio Hawk House on new song "Chill Pill (Experiment 2)," taken from their forthcoming EP A Handshake For The Brain out June 23rd. Located somewhere in that Digable Planets zone, it's a super catchy ode to unloading the mind. The paired-back production leaves the stage clear for the lyrical agility of the group (brothers Sam and Eman, and their friend Demae) to really shine. Demae's sung verse, in particular, is a moment. Shot in ever-slick monochrome, this video's sweet too.
