One of my favorite 2012 records was Passion, from the Parisian mainstay Para One, formerly of the great Institubes label and eccentric group TTC and currently co-head of Marble. In a year of weirdly computerized vocals, from Purity Ring to Future, I thought in terms of relatable feeling his single "Lean on Me" bested them all, though the album always felt kinda slept on, at least here in New York. Deservedly, the LP is getting a second life of sorts thanks to Club, Para One's newly announced followup.

"I decided to reshape [Passion] for my live act," Para One says, "and rebuilt the tracks entirely, making live versions for festivals and bigger clubs. Then I found myself with a totally different album." So there'll be a new take on "Lean on Me," plus this fantastic piano-house reinterpretation of "You." "I did it as an homage to those 90's rave anthems that we all loved," he says of this version. "I needed a song to create a peak in my sets and gather everyone on the dancefloor." The music video's glorious. Club comes out July 15th in the US via Big Beat, and it's up for preorder now. Stream a minimix preview below.
