Today Lil Durk released Signed to the Streets 2, the follow up to his 2013 project. The drill themes of street paranoia and rampant violence weigh heavily, with titles like "Rumors," "Don't Know Me," and "Feds Listenin" suggesting a constant glare over the shoulder. It's an effective pose, but moments of levity like the Young Chop-produced "I Made It" are an appreciated change of pace. Durk even finds time for a love song: "What You Do To Me" counters the usual paranoia with rosy positivity. As the second wave of Chicago drill rappers Lil Bibby, Lil Herb and Dreezy gain more attention, Lil Durk shows its breakouts are still part of the conversation.
