The Seattle singer-songwriter returns with a flourish on the anthemic first taste of third album, Too Bright.

UPDATE 7/17/14: "Queen" now has a striking, SSION-directed official video that, according to the press release, follows "a kind of alternative universe Forrest Gump and Jenny, except with fluid genders and ever shifting identities." Watch it above.

The vulnerability that used to pour from every musical pore of Seattle singer-songwriter Perfume Genius is nowhere to be found on the first glimpse of freshly announced third album Too Bright, due out September 23rd on Matador Records. "Queen" is an anthemic two fingers to the latent homophobia that crawls beneath the everyday. No family is safe when I sashay, he sings on the hook and you can almost hear a winking lip curl as the cymbals crash. Love the Freddie-referencing new look too. Apparently the album was recorded with Portishead's Adrian Utley, which is an intriguing and rather exciting union.
