Diplo "Devastated" Following Mad Decent Block Party Tragedy

Mad Decent founder Diplo expressed his sadness in the wake of tragic events at Friday’s Mad Decent Block Party in Columbia, Maryland. As reported by Billboard, a 17-year-old man from Woodbridge, Virginia, died following an apparent drug overdose, according to police on Sunday. This came after police said a 20-year-old man named Tyler Fox Viscardi died on Friday from a drug-related overdose. Resulting hospitalizations for a further 20 people may have also been attributed to drugs.

On Saturday, Diplo tweeted: “our hearts go out to everyone impacted by yesterday’s event. we are truly devastated.” Mad Decent Block Party followed up with an announcement on its website: “We were shocked and saddened when we heard the news from yesterday's event at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Maryland. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this. Right now, we are waiting along with everyone else for more information.”
