BOY/FRIEND Returns with a Late Summer Jam, “Ride Slowly”

August 09, 2014

BOY/FRIEND, aka underrated New York R&B upstart Shan Poo, has something of a knack for nailing a mood-- be it late-spring 2013's Leather Weather or cuffing season anthem "Never Not Looking." And now, with "Ride Slowly," the second single off his upcoming Low Key mixtape, he seems to have done it again in time for the dawning late-summer. The song -- which features verses from Fat Tony and Tom Cruz, as well as additional vocals by Jason Scott Henderson -- has some dancehall in it's DNA, because, hey, summer's not over yet and there's still time to wine and grind. But it plays little slower and smoother, because the nights are only getting cooler and so why not ride slowly, too? Low Key should be out later this year. (via Vogue)
