Tragedy befell hip-hop artist Rich Homie Quan when his father, Corey Lamar, was reportedly shot four times at an Atlanta barbershop where he worked, according to TMZ. A representative for Quan said that an individual or a group of individuals attempted to rob the place and during the holdup, gunfire erupted. At the moment, Lamar is in critical condition at a local hospital but should recover.

G. “Fly” Henry, founder and CEO of Think It's a Game Entertainment – Quan's label – sent a statement to XXL about the incident: "Unfortunately RHQ’s father Corey Lamar was shot due to an attempted robbery in his barbershop yesterday. We don’t know how the news traveled so fast. Was this gang/beef related? Not that we know of. Quan’s Dad is doing better now and in the healing process. We’re just asking all of his fans to support and honor the privacy of Rich Homie Quan and his family as they push through. We at TIG Records wish him well and a speedy recovery. It’s really times like these that we stand even stronger by our code at T.I.G and that’s to, Trust In God."
