Beyoncé Facing Heat For “XO”– Again

A background singer has filed a suit alleging that Queen B lifted the song from his catalog.

Uh-oh, looks like “XO" is causing trouble for Beyoncé once again. Last year, she had to defend the song—one of the most thematically innocuous off her self-titled album—against NASA, who were less-than-thrilled to learn that the song sampled audio from the fatal Challenger space shuttle launch. Now she's facing trouble again, this time from an artist who claims the song was stolen from his catalog. According to TMZ, singer Ahmad Javon Lane has filed a suit alleging that Queen B was given a copy of his “XOXO" (which you can hear below) by one of her background singers, before she recorded “XO.“ He wants at least $3 million, which is probably no sweat for 2014's highest-paid woman in music—but titles aside, do these songs really sound anything alike to you?
