Charli XCX Parties With “Gold Coins”

Charli XCX continues her transformation to full-fledged pop-phenom.

November 17, 2014

Over the weekend, news broke that Charli XCX has been tapped to perform during ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve special alongside Megan Trainor, One Direction, and show headliner Taylor Swift– NBD, right?—which gives us the impression that her sophomore album, Sucker, which arrives next month, will complete her transition from girl-about-the-internet to full-fledged pop phenomenon. We've previously heard "London Queen," "Boom Clap," and "Break the Rules," and now there's another new album cut, "Gold Coins." It's a low-key party anthem with new wave underpinnings, co-written by Patrick Berger of "Dancing on My Own" fame. Sucker is out 12/16 on Asylum/Atlantic/Neon Gold.
