Chance The Rapper Allegedly Leaked A New Song Last Night

Chance leaks—and retracts—new song on Twitter overnight.

December 12, 2014

UPDATE 3/4/15 10:40 a.m.: Looks like "Cold Stares" is actually a tune from West Coast producer Nosaj Thing's new album, Fated, which is due out May 5 via Innovative Leisure. Hear the official tune at Pitchfork.

Chance the Rapper did something sneaky last night: according to Rap Wave, he tweeted out a new song with his band the Social Experiment, "Cold Stares," and then took it down three minutes later, deleting the whole trail suggesting that he dropped it to begin with. "3 minutes til its gone. pay attention/home studio sound/cloud. hidden. time ticking," he allegedly tweeted. "If you happened to be one of the like 12 people that caught it, that just makes us closer."

Thankfully, some people caught it anyway, and you can hear it here. "Cold Stares" is a more downcast tune than "Sunday Candy," our first taste from Chance, Donnie Trumpet, and the Social Experiment's Surf that FADER premiered last month. No word as of yet as to whether "Cold Stares" will appear on Surf, too.
