He says it “a huge step forward.”

January 23, 2015

Looks like Jay Z and New York governor Andrew Cuomo's publicized meeting has paid off. A month after the pair got together to talk about criminal justice reform, Hova has given his seal of approval to Cuomo's new six-point plan intended to repair police relations. In a statement he gave to Capitol Confidential, Jay called the plan "a huge step forward in restoring fairness, protection, sensitivity and accountability for all under our justice system." His praise didn't end there either. He went on to say, "I commend Governor Cuomo for his bold leadership in taking this issue head on at this critical time. This package presents comprehensive steps to protect and improve relations amongst all citizens. We cannot be divided, as every single human being matters. Together, we can move forward as a community, with mutual respect for each other and continue to make this great state stronger than ever before." Watch Cuomo outline his plan in his State of the State speech below.
