Migos And The FADER Went Weed Shopping In Amsterdam And Sightseeing In Paris And Made A Rap Video
Here’s “Cross the Country,” a musical documentary from The FADER and Migos
Recent FADER cover stars Migos traveled overseas for the first time this winter, hitting Europe and Dubai for a string of tour dates. We accompanied them for a couple wild nights in Paris and Amsterdam. The result is the official video, produced by FADER TV, for "Cross the Country," the opening track from 2014's Rich Nigga Timeline tape. In the epic, nearly seven-minute documentary clip, Migos plays a club gig, visits the Eiffel Tower, and buys legal weed in Amsterdam. "I'm used to shooting music videos in a renegade manner, but this experience tops it all," said The FADER producer Shomi Patwary, the video's director and editor.
Though traveling, Migos couldn't be kept from work for long. In Paris, the group finished two songs in two different studios in two hours, Patwary said. Thirty minutes later, they were onstage at a club, performing for fans who knew all the words. "They were all about business," added Scott Perry, the video's director of photography. "This was their first time out of the country, but you never would have noticed. They didn't seem phased by their new surroundings at all."
In Amsterdam, after little sleep and a long train ride, Migos went straight to the coffee shop. "The expression 'kids in a candy store' is so overused, but that's exactly how I would describe them," Perry said.
Migos' debut album, called Y.R.N. The Album, comes out later this year. Maybe they'll go to Sweden to finish it.
