His latest in a string of pop culture engagements comes as a sit-down conversation with series creator David Simon—the two use the series as a bridge to discuss mass incarceration and country's culture of policing. "It doesn't work, it's draconian, it doesn't work," Simon remarks, classifying the population of largely unemployable formally incarcerated citizens as "the other America."
