According to a Twitter conversation between Cher and a fan, the singer had a nice talk with Kanye at the Met Gala during which the rapper thanked her for using autotune. Though many listeners attribute most of the world's pre-808s & Heartbreak vocal manipulation to T-Pain—who has suggested that Kanye basically stole the concept for 808s from him—Cher beat both these boys by several years, slathering autotune all over her vocal on "Believe," a bubbly dancefloor hit from 1998. As she sang on that song: "what am I supposed to do? Sit around and wait for you?"
Cher also chatted with Kim about "our trips to Armenia."
