Kwamie Liv Returns With “Higher”

The Danish-Zambian singer heats up ahead of new EP.

It's been not quite a year since the exceptionally worldly (she's lived between Denmark, Zambia, Turkey, Sweden, South Africa, Kenya, Ireland and Bangladesh) R&B singer Kwamie Liv first commanded our attention with her beautiful, whispery EP Lost In The Girl. Having proven herself a unique and exciting voice in the ever-expanding R&B landscape, she's now gearing up to release a second EP this summer. The first song off that project is "Higher," which premieres today on The FADER.

"I started writing 'Higher' on a piano in Stockholm," Liv tells The FADER, "but it wasn't until I was back in Copenhagen some time later, messing around between takes at a rehearsal, that the chorus came to me." She adds, "I knew straight away that I wanted it to be my next release. I'm so happy to finally be able to share it with all the people who have been so supportive of my first EP Lost in the Girl as well as with people who are new to my music." Strong and stunning, it's a promising prophesy for what she's got to come. Listen below.
