Ariana Grande is seriously paying for licking some powdered jelly donuts. A day after video footage of the incident spread—which showed Grande walking away without paying and saying "I hate America"—the pop singer has reportedly been replaced by Demi Lovato as a performer at the MLB All-Star Concert this weekend and has been scrutinized for her USA diss. Earlier today Grande apologized, explaining that her comment was geared towards America's obesity rate. "The fact that the United States has one of the highest child obesity rates in the world frustrates me. We need to do more to educate ourselves and our children about the dangers of overeating and the poison that we put into our bodies," she said in a statement to the Associated Press. "However, I should have known better in how I expressed myself; and with my new responsibility to others as a public figure I will strive to be better."
But she's not off the hook yet. Grande is now being investigated by the local police in Lake Elsinore, California, and Riverside County public health officials. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grande's actions were classified as a "malicious lick." One other party who's still unhappy about the incident is the cashier who was on duty, Mayra Solis, who told the AP: "She was really rude." Grande has yet to comment on the investigation.
