Apple Music is still in its free trial period, but the streaming service has been under heavy scrutiny since it launched. Yesterday, The Guardian reported the results of a new study of the platform by MusicWatch. Though Apple executives recently suggested that 11 million users signed up for Apple Music, MusicWatch’s results indicate that close to half of them don’t use it. Apple quoted a different figure, telling The Guardian, “Of the people that have signed up for the trial 79% are using the service.”

The study—which surveyed 5,000 people—also found that 66% of users are “very likely” or “extremely likely” to continue the service after the end of the free trial period. In addition, the survey indicated that “Beats 1 is being used by 30 percent of Apple Music streamers, while 27 percent are using Connect.”
