Ian Rogers joined Apple along with several other executives after the company acquired Beats Audio. Rogers was instrumental in the launch of Apple's music streaming service Apple Music and even played a part in hiring BBC's Zane Lowe. Today, as The Financial Times reports, Rogers is parting ways with Apple to work in an unrelated industry. Rogers had worked in the music industry for several years, running streaming at Beats as well as founding Topspin, a start-up that made it easier for artists interact with their fans.

An estimated 11 million users subscribe to Apple Music, which is in a free trial period until October.
