Canada’s Greys Make Anxiety Catchy

Stream their guitar-heavy and charming as heck “I’d Hate To Be An Actor.”

September 09, 2015

Please don't make me speak/ Don't ask questions/ Don't ever leave, sings Shehzaad Jiwani of Toronto band Greys on the first single off of their new EP Repulsion (out the day before Halloween, via Carpark and Buzz Records—pre-order here). Jiwani says the guitar-heavy, charming as heck "I'd Hate To Be An Actor" is "about that strange juxtaposition of being a little spoon with your partner, completely at peace physically while the noise in your head is overwhelming." Yeah, that's a familiar feeling, even if you're not the little spoon. Sometimes the buzzing, the whirlwind of thoughts in your head just can't be stopped, no matter how comfy you are. "I'd Hate To Be An Actor" is just like that feeling—the song is catchy, the lyrics are anxious. It begs to be played on repeat. Check out Greys' upcoming tour dates and stream "I'd Hate To Be An Actor" below.
