T.I. Will Appear In A&E’s Revival Of Roots

Variety reports that T.I. will join the cast of Roots, A&E's reboot of the Emmy award-winning mini-series that first aired on ABC in 1977. He will play the part of Cyrus, a slave who fights with the Union army. He will have a prominent role in the fourth and final episode of the show.

T.I. isn't the only figure from hip-hop involved with the project: Questlove will help oversee the music. Other members of the cast include Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Mekhi Phifer. Roots will debut sometime in 2016.
