Young Joey Gets A Boost From Gucci Mane On “Gas”

“I been Bricksquad since day 0,” says the Queens rapper.

Yung Joey hails from Jamaica, Queens, but tends to take his musical cues from down South. On his latest release, "Gas," Joey jumps on a track with Atlanta's (currently incarcerated) king, Gucci Mane. It creeps and crashes, and Guwop's whisper is nicely offset by Joey's glowering-flow.

"Just to clear the air up, I been Bricksquad since day 0," Joey wrote in an email to The FADER. "The crazy thing is, we still have a bunch of records we did together that haven't been released yet. Gucci's catalog is sick. They said 2pac used to make like 3 songs a day? I seen Guwop average about 5, no jelly. Shout out Caveman. Free Gucci!!!!" Amen.
