“I wanted both the song and the visuals to feel like a new classic—familiarity with something a little fresher.”

Last fall Swedish producer iSHi surprised and delighted us with "We Run," an updated take on golden era New York rap featuring a spiked boom-bap beat as well as gritty verses from outer-borough legends Raekwon and French Montana. Today he has shared the video, which, in keeping with that "new classic" feel, was shot in grainy black and white and cropped to old television dimensions. The only misstep: it seems to have been shot in Los Angeles.

'Wu-Tang were a huge inspiration to me growing up and Raekwon’s influence has stuck with me since those days," iSHi told The FADER over email. "I wanted both the song and the visuals to feel like a new classic—familiarity with something a little fresher. The record had to be both real and raw and I think the production paired with French, Wale and Raekwon was the perfect way to do this."
