When creating their new album, Stand Up And Speak, DJDS started sampling live recordings instead of relying mostly on vinyl. But "I Don't Love You" came together using the duo's old methods. "That was one of the only ones on the new album that was built from samples," Samo Sound Boy told Billboard. "It kind of has some of our old style but in a new form—we built it out [with] real organ, real snares."

The visual for the track arrived today. "We made this video with our good friend and collaborator Daniel Pappas," the duo wrote on Gorilla Vs.Bear. "The ghost of an aspiring actress (played by Dasha Nekrasov) floats through Hollywood purgatory seeking her final peace. We are all very interested in the contrast between the different parts of Los Angeles, and wanted to use this video to dig deeper into the misery of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We shot this entirely with iPhones over the course of one day in December. Shooting with iPhones is great because the cameras on them look good and you’ll rarely get asked if you have a permit."
