Future debuted EVOL a week ago on DJ Khaled's Beats 1 Radio show. According to a press release from Apple, the roll-out led to a flurry of activity on social media: "EVOL's premiere generated 29k Tweets per hour, achieving top Twitter trends worldwide. Apple Music's Instagram post announcing EVOL's availability was the 9th most engaged of all time for Apple Music. There have been 447k EVOL mentions since Future announced it on 2/3."

In an email to The FADER, Apple suggested that all of this helped drive the record to the No. 1 spot on the next Billboard 200 chart. Billboard has not officially confirmed the album as the latest top-seller, though it was predicted earlier this week.

Last year, Future hit the top spot on the Billboard 200 twice: first with DS2, and then again with his Drake collaboration, What A Time To Be Alive.
