Cudi discusses his past drug use and what lead him there. "I'm gonna need to kill myself or do drugs, and well, I wanted to live so..." he says. He goes on to explain how the burden of his early success weighed on him when others around him who had also worked hard weren't experiencing the same. He also speaks on having two uncles who were "crackheads" and how he always told himself he'd never do drugs.

In the above clip, Cudi chats about his early days in New York when he was working at the his dream job at the BAPE store. He applied four times before getting the gig and was so broke he was borrowing clothes from coworkers. He quit the job to tour two days in Australia and came back worried about what was next. Then Kanye came calling. Kanye gave him a jump drive of tracks and ended up having Cudi do hooks for The Blueprint 3. He still freaks out about the opportunity talking about it now. He finishes the clip discussing how he didn't take those two first spots for granted. He wanted the third. "I was like 'fuck that I can do better' and there was no time for celebration."
