Earlier this week, Beyoncé issued a rare (non-musical) statement on current events, offering her take on the police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Just one day later, five police officers were slain when shooters opened fire on a crowd of protesters marching through Dallas in the names of Sterling, Castile, and other victims of police violence.

Now, Beyoncé has shared a tribute to the officers who were murdered in her home state through a moving Instagram post. The brief video features a close-up of a waving Texas state flag interspersed with the names of the slain officers.

The singer captioned the video with a brief message:

Rest in peace to the officers whose lives were senselessly taken yesterday in Dallas. I am praying for a full recovery of the seven others injured. No violence will create peace. Every human life is valuable. We must be the solution. Every human being has the right to gather in peaceful protest without suffering more unnecessary violence. To effect change we must show love in the face of hate and peace in the face of violence.
