In a report issued today, Google says its software designed to help rights owners claim ownership of content in YouTube videos has doled out $1 billion in the last year. According to a Recode piece, Google will be releasing a 62-page pamphlet today titled "How Google Fights Piracy" that subtly bats back at criticism from artists and record labels who say that they're not seeing enough royalties from their music.
