The sad and untimely death of Carrie Fisher over the holidays was compounded when her mother, Debbie Reynolds, passed away the following day. Those wanting to spend a little more time with the Hollywood icons can do so via an HBO documentary the pair made, which will air this coming weekend. Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds will be broadcast by the cable network on January 8. Originally due in March, the team behind the film moved it forward in light of the recent news.
The trailer for the film can be seen above. It captures the loving bond between the mother and daughter, as well as offering an insight into life inside a showbiz family. “I’m my mom’s best friend. Far more than I would ever want to, I know what my mother feels and wants,” Fisher says at one point. Grab some tissues and check out the trailer above.
