Beyoncé is reportedly the frontrunner to voice the character of Nala in the upcoming remake of The Lion King. Sources tell Variety that Bey is director Jon Favreau’s "top choice" to voice the character in the film, though it is stressed that she is yet to make a decision on the offer.

Sources add that the director, who helmed the live action remake of The Jungle Book in 2016, is confident the star's schedule can be accommodated. Beyoncé is pregnant with twins and pulled out of headlining Coachella this year on doctor's orders.

Donald Glover is already confirmed to voice Simba in the movie with James Earl Jones reprising his role as Simba’s father, Mufasa.

Should she sign on, The Lion King would mark Beyoncé’s first film role since voicing a character in 2013 animated movie Epic.
