The sequel to Eddie Murphy's classic Coming To America which will turn 30 next year, is gathering speed. Rumors about a potential follow up to the comedy movie have circulated in Hollywood circles for a while now, but Paramount has confirmed that it has secured original writers Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield to write the film. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news, but it remains unclear whether Eddie Murphy is on board to reprise his role as Prince Akeem.

Coming To America also starred Arsenio Hall and James Earl Jones alongside Shari Headley and John Amos. Murphy played Prince Akeem, who traveled from his affluent life in Africa to Queens, New York in search of true love.
