Jeremih celebrated Cinco de Mayo by surprising fans with an entire EP. Cleverly titled Cinco De MihYo, the rapper premiered the EP on Hot New Hip Hop Friday night.
The rapper was inspired by the holiday, which commemorates the Mexican victory in the Battle of Puebla, and gives a nod to Mexican culture with Spanish song titles and references to Mexico throughout.
In a statement given to The FADER, the rapper wrote:
"I was inspired by the holiday and put this project together in the last 24 hours. I walked in the studio and my producer BongoByTheWay was playing some guitar vibes. After a few shots of tequila and some good company, I decided to do something different for my fans."
