On Tyler, the Creator's Flower Boy, lines like "I been kissing white boys since 2004" on "I Ain't Got Time" received a lot of attention for what appeared to be a coming out moment of sorts for the rapper. Tyler has not elaborated on the lyrics at all since the album's release or given any interviews to press. On a new episode of Koopz Tunes on Know Wave, Tyler described a same sex romance in his teens without any apparent irony.

"I had a boyfriend when I was fifteen in fucking Hawthorne [California], nigga," he said. "If that's not open-minded, I don't know what the fuck that is." Tyler makes the comments at the 4:10 mark.

The subject is only mentioned in passing, and the rest of the show is spent playing music enjoyed by both Tyler and Koopz, the show's host. Over the course of the program, Tyler discusses Pharrell, 2 Chainz, and touring: the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival this October may be his only remaining show of 2017.
